Divert MGNREGA funds to skill development: RSS

Doling out money for that scheme makes people inactive and lazy, it says

On a day that the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) got an additional allocation of Rs. 5,000 crore in the Union Budget, the Rashtriya Swayamsevk Sangh (RSS) has raised the red flag, saying the scheme makes the recipient “inactive.”

The MGNREGS fund should rather be diverted for skill development mission for employment, a top RSS functionary said in Kolkata on condition of anonymity.

“Doling out money [for MGNREGS] makes people inactive … lazy,” the RSS leader said on Saturday.

The functionary was asked if the RSS’s focus on working for rural uplift was reducing, as rural growth might confine the farmers in their respective villages reducing the supply of migrant workers in urban or semi-urban locations. The leader denied it.

“The focus [of the RSS] to work in rural areas is still as much as it used to be,” the leader said.

However, subsidising the rural poor through the MGNREGS is no more an acceptable solution to eradicate poverty. “Rather the government can play a role to make people self-sufficient and thus skill development is necessary, as many people can be gainfully employed,” the RSS leader said.

Skills mission

The Finance Minister has announced launching of a National Skills Mission, a favoured project of the Prime Minister, to consolidate skill initiatives across several Ministries on Saturday.

It happens in family too. The husband or wife or father or mother or son or daughter; let that be someone; that person may have said and done so many good things; we just ignore them. When they commit one mistake, then we all rip that person apart.

In fact, RSS could contribute their energy in developing villages. This Prime Minister is too much carried away by western philosophy and management. The Prime Minister believes New York and Washington is the best way of living. And the Prime Minister allocates all resources and energy to achieve that goal.

It should be RSS responsibility to take the Prime Minister to India's root. Village and Grahma Panjayat is the way of life in India. Why we need to give up that culture and tradition. You could develop software from villages too; you don't need sit in a cubical office in the crowded city.

What is this LAB? Land Acquisition Bill? Why do you need to grab land from somebody. If the cause is genuine, they would volunteer and give up their land? 

Why there is a desperation? Very desperate to achieve some thing; desperate to change all those economical index? 

In India, people die in their old age. In those developed nations, kids commit suicide. All those outside development; that is not real; you couldn't see the darkness in their life. 

Make in China means making bi-cycles and scissors and objects for day-to-day life.

Make in India now end up in making defense equipments; that means high-end guns and weapons. Those employees would love to own them and play with them. In Chennai, that school boy used a knife to kill the teacher. Now with Make in India, the school kids would have access to those top guns. That is the way of life in all those developed nations.

It's time, Narendra Modi needs to take time-off and spends time in RSS camps and try to understand the basics of Indian culture.

Do you want land? Plenty. plenty is available in America and Canada. You could purchase land over there and build your weapon factory over there. It is ideal for those kind of operations. It is not good for anything else. You cannot grow even a single plant.

The areas closer to equator; those are the only areas good for any plant. We need to just continue to do the same; just agriculture in its natural way. 

Media shall act with responsibility of a mother. A mother may have several children. All those children may occupy good profession except one. That one child may not have studied well; might not have a good life. Father supports all those good children; mother supports the left-out child. 

So, let people belong to any organization. The fact is all are part of larger family of India.

During my recent visit to India, I was talking to a kid. I took my phone and tried to show some picture and share information. Then I realized that I didn't have phone service in India and my phone didn't have connectivity. But the kid said to me, "No worry." The kid went inside and came back with his phone.

The kid created a wifi hotspot with his phone and asked me to connect using that hotspot. For a second, I was just looking at the kid. The mind is so young and fresh; not corrupted at all; infinite possibilities. It did work. We could continue with our conversation for a quite a long time. I did enjoy the challenge and the innovative opportunity. 

Just open up your heart; then open up your wifi. Share your wifi with your fellow citizens of planet earth.

In Chennai, around Adyar, Besant Nagar; almost all home have high-speed wifi. In those homes, mostly older parents live. Their children are in abroad. They don't use the internet to its full capacity. They could easily open up their wifi. Entire Besant Nagar would have a citywide wifi. You don't need to wait for government to build citywide wifi. As citizen, you could build citywide wifi.

In Madurai, I was in the omnibus stand. All the omnibus operators have their office in that busstand. All of them have wifi in their office. But it is all closed; not open. If they could open up their wifi, it would have been very much beneficial to their customers.

Two decades ago, when they launched the first-generation wi-fi, it was open; there was no security lock. During that time, you get connection from any open wifi network; likewise, others may connect to your network too. There was no serious security threat. But these telephone companies didn't like the openness and started building locks for your wifi.

In Delhi, initially, the government could encourage the business houses to provide wifi to public. Let it be, Kake Da Dhaba or Saravana Bhavan or Haldiram. Let them provide open wifi to their customers. Likewise, let the stores, textile houses, hospitals and all kinds of shops; let them open up their wifi.

Let Delhi be a model for Open Wireless Internet.

Don't use the word 'free'

We don't say, Oxygen is free in Delhi. 

Oh! that is a different topic. Perhaps, now, polluted air is free in Delhi. People may carry Oxygen; just like those water bottles. 

So, just open up your heart; open up your wireless internet; share it with fellow citizens and visitors.

 

Democracy in a hurry

Last year, the Football world cup matches were in Brazil. During that period, almost everywhere people where watching football matches. It was in television; it was in Internet; it was everywhere. People used to watch those matches at home; or at work; or on-the-go.

In that period, there was a commercial in television. This guy avoids watching the match in the computer; avoids all his co-workers; avoids seeing the television screen in roadside shops; avoids his neighbors; finally enters into his house to watch the football match, right from the beginning. He wants to enjoy the match in total. There his little daughter runs towards him and says; we won.

Once you know the result, you cannot enjoy the match.

Likewise, movies.  That is the beauty of going to the first show on the first day. You could watch the movie with freshness. When you read the review; when you hear the story from your friends; all the freshness is lost.

Once, people didn't have in-depth knowledge about sex; but they did enjoy so much in life. Now, everybody knows too much; but mostly living as a single.

Knowledge is burden; people needs freedom from knowledge.

Long time ago, in India, our ancestors used to cast their vote in paper ballot. Now, we have electronic voting machine. That is good.

Long time ago, our ancestors didn't have photo id cards; so there were chances, others might case vote in their name. Now we have photo id cards.

A few decades ago, counting of vote used to take long time; because it was manual. Now, we just need to press the button. That is good.

Earlier nobody could predict the outcome. Now, there are too many tools and advanced technologies are available to predict the outcome; with minimal error. In few decades the error will be zero.

So, by next decade, the election and the result - the entire process would lose its beauty. It would be a mechanical process.

Just imagine.

People voted on 7 February 2015.

No exit poll; no predictions are available.

Everybody would eagerly wait for the results  on 10 February 2015.

It would be like, last ball; needs to score 3 runs to win. The match would resume after a short break.

That 7th, 8th, 9th there would have been a lot of emotions; debate; discussion; and so much lively things would take place.

On 10th February 2015, with hope and with total freshness, people would have listen to each and every bit of news; and comments.

It would have been like watching your favorite sports.

Whether it is food; or wine; or sex; little by little; slow; just like that Pankaj Udhas ghazals.

When the outcome is not known; the election would have brought total and complete joy to the winner; and total and whole sorrow for the loser.

It would have been like that cricket match between India and Pakistan. India had full joy; Pakistan had full sorrow. That is life.

Now, with the current life style, people don't get an opportunity to enjoy anything in whole; and also they don't get an opportunity to feel the sorrow in whole.

People have lost all those emotions. Now, people do have only two states of mind.

Excited. Depressed.

Known is burden. Human beings need freedom from the known.

All these exit polls and analysis - destroy the beauty of the democracy.

This is what happened for the Delhi election.

People did cast their votes on  7 February 2015.
Exit polls results were out by 7 February 2015, evening.

Arvind Kejriwal and his friends were excited.
Amit Shah and his friends were depressed.

By 10 February 2015 morning, all activities came to an end.

This kind of hurry is not only in democracy, but also in every activity of human life.

They are in a hurry to do the yoga. They are in a hurry to do meditation.

Even food, they just have fast food; or cereal.

So, don't try to ban exit polls. You don't need to take any corrective action in hurry.

Just observe your life; your daily activities.

A decade ago, Prannoy Roy used to occupy the television for entire day, during election results. Now, Prannoy Roy couldn't entertain the viewers even for an hour.

Is this what they call, "the development"

Could we?

As, we, the people of India, could we?

Could we have the election without any exit or opinion poll?

Could we have an election without those charts; percentages; data; and analysis.

As an experiment, could we just have a simple election?

Let us enjoy the democracy; let us enjoy the fruit of democracy.

Let us not make democracy as just another fast-food.
 

Strength of Volunteers

Volunteers are strength. Workers are burden.

This is true for any organization.

Even in business organization, the internal structure is known as cost-center. Only the external customers are known as profit-center.

Organization in spiritual areas, in general cause more damages than any good.

Any organization is a cage. Both leaders and followers are trapped in that cage. Initially they may feel safe and secure inside the cage; later all may start feeling suffocation inside the cage. The leader tries to pull the followers up; but the followers continue to pull the leader down.

Organization; management; performance and all other related terms are designed by western culture.

To execute any large scale project, you need resources in large scale. In ancient India, they didn't invent any management techniques; they build character in human being.

To build a large temple like, Meenakshi Temple, they needed lot of resources. Once people understand the cause, they offer voluntary service.

You don't hire a vehicle or workers to lift a dead body. On their own, even today, in this modern world, people do come forward.

மதுரையிலே தேரோட்டம் நடக்கும். ஊர் மக்கள் ஒன்றுகூடி, இன்னைக்கும் தேர் இழுப்பார்கள். வயது, நிறம், ஜாதி எந்தவித பேதமும் இல்லாமல், மக்கள் ஒன்றுகூடி தேர் இழுப்பார்கள். அவரவர் முடிந்த அளவுக்கு, தங்களது உடல் சக்தியால், தேர் இழுப்பார்கள்.

கூலிக்கு ஆட்கள் வைத்து; ஆணையிட்டு தேர் இழுப்பது இல்லை. டிராக்டர் என்று எந்திரத்தைக் கொண்டும் தேர் இழுப்பது இல்லை.

When you are true; when your cause is true; all energy would gather around you.

Lord Rama was in the forest when Ravana challenged. Rama didn't have his army. But Rama got the huge volunteers support, from Hanuman and his friends.

You need volunteers. Volunteers give their full energy for the cause. Once the objective is achieved, they go back to their regular work.

When you hire workers, you cannot fire them once the task has been completed. They would become burden to you and to your organization.

Look at the Delhi BJP unit. Parliament election is over. Assembly election is also over. They don't have any work for the next four years. Now, they are burden to you.

The worst thing is, when they are idle, they cause more damage to the entire organization. You cannot let them go free for four years and come back for the next election. You need to continually entertain them.

So, volunteers are strength. Party workers are burden.

In United States, you don't need party or party workers. Barack Obama got a huge volunteers support. In fact, Barack Obama tried to hold that volunteers permanent. But others advised against that. Then Barack Obama let his volunteers go after the election results and celebration.

In India also, you don't need any political party and army of workers. All you need is # of MLA or MP.

Arvind Kejriwal didn't invent any new flag. Arvind Kejriwal did invent a new symbol. But that is unnecessary for a capital city Delhi. In Delhi, all are able to read and write; they don't need symbols.

Arvind Kejriwal did learn about managing volunteers during Team Anna movement. That did help Arvind. Volunteers, instead of party workers; that goes as an advantage to Arvind Kerjiwal.

Generally party workers engage in corruption, when their party is in power. Leaders could not control them or even question them. They may ask back; without my work, you would not have become a CM or PM.

So, just stay with volunteers; don't try to build a huge party with large workers base.

In fact, in today corporate world, they try to stay lean; out source most of the regular tasks.

In political area also, out source tasks like, pasting posters; distribution of materials. If you use your party workers, they may demand for minister posts.

Anyway, you cannot get rid of your current burden; but you could avoid adding more burdens.

Without the burden of party workers; without the burden of parivar; without the burden of any other alliance partners; without worrying about number count in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha; it is only, Arvind Kejriwal could work for the people.

All CMs and even PM may envy Arvind Kejriwal.

That is the power of volunteers and strength of volunteers.

Noisy Media in India

 These cartoons are from Sri Lanka Daily Mirror newspaper. Excellent work of art; meaningful; effective communication. Look at the depth of the message. It is so clear; understandable by anyone.

No noises; no confusion; high quality content; wonderful journalism; original. This is possible only when the artist have a clear perception of the whole thing.

In India, somehow journalism have reached a very low level. The Shiv Sena cartoon; the black and white cartoon; with twin towers; with lot of black ink on the face of the President of United States; it just reflects the darkness of the heart of the Shiv Sena leader.

It's too noisy. When you visit India, most probably, you will also get sucked into that noisy trap. It is not just in political arena; even at home; in family; with friends; and relatives. Everybody talks so much with so loud voice. Nobody listens to anybody.

This Modi suit is a solid material for media; but they couldn't handle as a quality material; they just went after its price.

As a journalist, when you get a seed, if you water it with care, it would grow into a whole tree; sometime into a forest. So much is there in this seed.

Instead of Narendra Damodardas Modi, if the suit has writings such as, "Make in India", "Clean India", "Jai Hind", "Vandemataram",  it would have emerged as a designer suit for every citizen of India.

If the labels are: "Lotus", "Bharathiya Janata Party", "BJP Sarkar", it would have emerged as a designer suit for every BJP karyakartas.

If the labels are: "Hare Rama, Hare Krishna", "Jai Hanuman", "Ganapathi papa mouriya", "Hara Hara Mahadeva", it would have emerged as a designer suit for every Rashtriya Swayam Sevak.

Winston Churchill called that Gujarati, Mohandas Karamchand as a half naked fakir. This suit in 2014 demonstrates the growth of India; the economic growth of India; not the growth in character.

Barack Obama said, "I wish to wear Paijama Kurta. But, as the President of United States, I represent the entire Americans. So, I need to present myself as the representative of all Americans, in public place."

Barack Obama is a Gandhiyan. Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi wears that half-naked fakir dress to reflect the entire population of India before independence.

Those responsible officers of United States of America told Barack Obama, not to wear those costumes in public places. How about friends of Narendra Modi? How about the officers of Republic of India?

Both BJP ministers and RSS leaders just let Narendra Modi do this kind of acts in public.

Indian Media, try to provide good quality content to the Indian public. Let there be less noise.

2015 Delhi Conspiracy

2015 Delhi Election.

It should become a study and research materials for political science students.

It cannot be considered as a conspiracy. But it is a world class political strategy.

It is very well planned and very well executed.

Ahmed Patel planned this strategy for 2015 Delhi election. The strategy was executed in an excellent style. It gave the total and complete results.

In Mahabharata, Krishna designed all strategies. Now, in modern India, Ahmed Patel designed many successful political strategies.

Gujarati  understands other Gujarati.
Ahmed Patel gave a big blow to both Narendra Modi and Amit Shah.

All Delhi politicians are aware of this strategy and all played a role in planning and execution of it. They belong to Congress, BJP and other political parties.

Don't underestimate the power of Common Man.

Failure is orphan

Success has many fathers; but failure is orphan.

 Harsh Vardhan Twitter Not even once, Harsh Vardhan mentioned Kiran Bedi name. Harsh Vardhan couldn't accept Kiran Bedi as a BJPian. That is a revolt against the leadership of Amit Shah.

Social media is effective when you practice truth. Social media would backfire if you use it as tool for propaganda. Propaganda, in any form is violence.

Had BJP taken right decision at right time, last year itself Harsh Vardhan would have become the Chief Minister of Delhi.

As soon as the Parliament election was over, BJP could have bought a few MLAs from Congress and AAP and formed the government with Harsh Vardhan as the Chief Minister of Delhi.

If BJP felt that was unethical, then could have called for immediate election. Instead, Narendra Modi pulled Harsh Vardhan into his cabinet.

It is now obvious, there is a reason for every action of Narendra Modi. It is not out of love, Narendra Modi gave cabinet position to Harsh Vardhan.

Bringing in Kiran Bedi also has a reason; not for administrative skills; not for clean image. Now Kiran Bedi is the mother for the Delhi failure.

The truth is; let them face challenges. In family, let your children face challenges. In organization, let your team members face challenges. In fact, challenges make them strong.  Challenges empower them. When you try to protect them from facing challenges, they would become weak.

Bringing in Kiran Bedi seems to be the idea of Arun Jaitley.

Nitin Gadkari worked in the background; so Nitin escaped.

Amit Shah; party workers still have confidence in his skills. So, there is no immediate challenge for Amit Shah. But, in future, Amit Shah cannot take things for granted. Regional leaders would argue with Amit Shah. Regional leaders would warn Amit Shah about Delhi and would say, they don't want the Delhi episode be repeated.

Narendra Modi sensed the trouble early and washed his hands off.

Arun Jaitley is in serious trouble. This is not a simple setback; there will be a post-mortem. Someone has to be accountable for failure. Many are waiting for this opportunity, within their own organization.

As a finance minister also, Arun Jaitley is not delivering any results.  Party may take action against Arun Jaitley and have Arun Jaitley accountable for the bad decision and strategy.

AK-49, now may refer to Arvind Kejriwal winning 49 seats in Delhi.

Last time, people of India gave Arvind Kejriwal the fruit of success; Arvind Kejriwal failed to understand its value.

Now, Arvind Kejriwal earned the fruit of success. This time, Arvind Kejriwal would avoid the mistake. What is the mistake Arvind Kejriwal need to avoid this time?

AAP for all states. They may tend to inflate this current victory and try to participate in all states all over India. Arvind Kejriwal has to avoid that inflation.

Not participating elections in Haryana and had been waiting for Delhi was the best strategy, as a leader Arvind Kejriwal had taken. So, stay focussed on Delhi.

Last time, after the Delhi victory, Arvind Kejriwal try to win all MP seats. That was the serious mistake, Arvind Kejriwal did and lost people's trust and faith.

Now, Narendra Modi and Amit Shah had been doing the same mistake. After winning the Parliament election, they try to win all MLA seats. That is a serious mistake and now they are paying the price for that inflation.

One thing is emerging in Indian politics. Leaders are emerging; not political parties. People identify the leadership quality of an individual and support those leaders.

People do not give value to political organization. Small or big, people reject organizations.

It's time to build a new constitution to support the leaders in politics. Let people directly elect leaders.

Good Worker. Bad Manager.

It happens in IT field. A person may be very good in developing software. As a promotion, that person may get the job of a manager. As a programmer, that person used to excel in performance. As a manager, that person may be a total failure.

In Peter Druker's words, the management had lost a good worker; and got a bad manager.

That's what happened to BJP. When Narendra Modi was Amit Shah's manager, Amit Shah did deliver wonderful results; did excel in performance.

But, when Amit Shah had been promoted as a manager, Amit Shah had been creating chaos, confusion and mess in the whole BJP organization.

In Maharashtra, the relationship with Shiv Sena; once it was considered as a holy relationship; not it is reduced to business partnership; sharing profit and loss.

In Jammu & Kashmir, after the election, it is confusion.

Here in Delhi; Amit Shah is not prepared at all.

Communism; very attractive policy. Without any exception, every human being, first become a communist; and then, after realization of the truth, they quit communism.

Karl Marx's vision was; let all human beings have equal wealth; he meant, let all of us work hard; earn profit; and share the profit equally; then all would become equal in wealth.

But in real, under communism, all would become equal in poverty; not in wealth.

So, communist party used to have lot of dedicated volunteers; without any expectations; they sacrifice their time and energy.  They are the best in propaganda.

In communist party, all are workers; no managers; no leaders; all comrades.

Does it work?  They had a good time in Bengal and Kerala.

Amit Shah follows the communist model; working closely with field workers; booth agents.

Booth agents alone cannot bring about transformation. Along with the best management strategy, the field workers could bring about transformation.

The best strategy always is, BJP vs Congress.

Rama needs Ravana. Arjun needs Dhoriyodhana.

So, BJP needs Congress. Congress need BJP.
When one is gone, the other will be gone too.

Had it been BJP versus Congress, Arun Jaitley would talk about lakhs of crores scam. Now, Arun Jaitley had to talk about 2 crores. What a low level! It doesn't even qualify to mention it public media.

In today's Indian economy, even ordinary person has few crores rupees. How do you expect this 2 crores be a hit? Certainly, it didn't qualify to be mentioned by the Central Finance Minister.

Let it be black money. At least, they brought back those 2 crores home. As a central finance minister, you couldn't bring back even a rupee or a dollar or an euro home.

So, it should have been BJP vs Congress.

Then the question arises; how do you handle the challenges of Arvind Kejriwal.

You could have handled that challenge with Kiran Bedi; not by bringing in; but by supporting Kiran Beid in the back ground.

Here it goes; ask Kiran Bedi to start another small party like AAP. Let all those AVAM join with Kiran Bedi party and challenge Arvind Kejriwal. Let people like Shazia Ilmi join in Kiran Bedi party.

In that way, all BJP workers would have worked hard in the field. Modi could just ignore all those small parties and just fight against Sonia.

Arvind Kejriwal and Kiran Bedi would have continued to entertain the people of Delhi in their own style.

After the election, BJP could align with Kiran Bedi party; if it is needed, could have a merger; or coalition.

In that scenario,  the opinon poll would have been:

• BJP - 38
• Congress - 2
• Arvind Kejriwal - 15
• Kiran Bedi - 15

Now, Amit Shah created a whole mess.

• first, it started as Narendra Modi for PM;  and Arvind Kejriwal for CM
• then, it was, Arvind Kejriwal vs Satish Upadhaya
• then it was, Arvind Kejriwal vs Kiran Bedi
• then, Arvind Kejriwal vs BJP top leaders
