‘They treated us well… told us not to worry’


“They behaved cordially and treated us well. There was not even a single incident of indecent behavior… they addressed us as sisters,” recalled Santy John, one of the 46 nurses who reached India on Saturday. According to Santy, the ISIS even asked the nurses to continue to work in the hospital. “They wanted new contracts and offered salaries in dinars instead of US dollars. That was not acceptable to us,” she said.

Santy said the armed men with covered faces always told them “not to worry”. Then on Tuesday, they arranged buses and asked them to move to Mosul. The nurses resisted.

“The next day, the ISIS men came with the same demand. We pleaded with them. They said if we remained in Tikrit, we would die. They said they were asking us to move out for our safety,” she said.

It is so surprising; no Twitter; no Facebook; and very humble and quiet.

Even for a small thing, they used to blow their horn; so loud and clear. But, now, they are very quiet.

So, it is our responsibility to praise them.

This is a great news; good to hear.

Right now, what you see in India is all about sexual violence; rape and so on. People of India lost complete trust on fellow Indians. People of India will certainly have no trust on their MPs.

One MP just delivered political speech as a cinematic way of expression; another MP has been directly involved in sexual abuse.

So, these sisters and daughters, were safe in Iraq; now they are back in India; they may not feel safe here in India.

So, thank you, brothers and sons of Islam.

ISIS - let us not get into one more acronym.

The good things, you see Islam in their struggle.

Islam unites people.

Right now, the rest of the world tries to understand the divisions of Islam; the rest of the world tries to understand, who is Shia; who is Sunni; who is Kurd.

Islam unites various divisions.

Historically, George Washington, Abraham Lincoln they were involved in war to bring people united. So, nothing wrong in involving in a struggle to unite various states of Islam.

When you could have, United States of America; what is wrong in them having a United States of Islam.

Everybody carries gun and kills people.

You call them as Police; or Military Soldier; or Militants; or Terrorists.

One good thing is, they are not planning or carrying out anymore underground terrorist activities such as, 911.

What they are doing is, Civil War.

The ground realities - no human beings would enjoy watching those pictures from killing fields.

When Abraham Lincoln had his Civil War, there were no digital cameras; no Twitter; no Facebook. Had those been there, those pictures from Texas, Carolina, Georgia would had been the worse than the killing fields of Iraq.

So, India may recognize and support the emerging governments in those regions; India may recognize the United States of Islam.
