Kiran Bedi, Wrong Strategy

வீரபாண்டிய கட்டபொம்மன் வசனம்.

யார் நீ; உனக்கு எதற்கு, முதல்வர் பதவி;
எங்களோடு தெரு தெருவாக வீதிவலம் வந்தாயா;
போஸ்டர் ஒட்டினாயா;
நடந்து முடிஞ்ச பாராளுமன்ற தேர்தலில், உனது பங்கு என்ன?
அப்ப, எங்கிருந்தாய்;

யாராலேயும் ஏத்துக்க முடியாது; மனம் குமுறத்தான் செய்யும்.
டில்லி மட்டும் இல்லே; அகில இந்திய அமைப்புகளுமே, சுதாரிச்சுகிரும்.

நாயா, பேயா, நாம வேலை செய்யணும்;
கடைசி நேரத்திலே, வானத்திலே இருந்து, யாராவது குதிப்பாங்க;
அவுங்க, நோகாம,  உடல் உழைப்பு ஏதும் இன்றி,
பலனை அனுபவிக்க ஓடி வந்து விடுவாங்க.

No human being could take it lightly.

Even in private sectors, they will never do such a thing. In corporate business management, they first explore internally and look for a suitable person with leadership qualities. When they don't find one, they would discuss with their people; as these challenges are new, we need new skills; that is the reason we are going outside; they need to take their people into confidence and make them part of the decision.

The best strategy would have been; let Kiran Bedi join BJP. No MLA ticket; no CM candidate. Only burden; a huge burden; that is the responsibility; announce in the party members meeting; Kiran Bedi will work with all of us and lead the campaign.

You could add some catchy messages like; we offered Kiran Bedi the ticket to contest for MLA; but Kiran Bedi said; let me do my service to the party first; and then share the fruit.

So, party announce, Kiran Bedi is responsible for winning the Delhi election. It's the responsibility of Kiran Bedi to win all 70 seats in Delhi. All the candidates are requested to work with Kiran Bedi and make sure you win the Assembly seat.

That strategy would unit the party members and they would become friendly with Kiran Bedi.

Once the election is won, then you ask a MLA to resign and become a minister in the center; give that seat to Kiran Bedi; now, all MLA happily would elect Kiran Bedi as the CM.

Whatever is happening now in Delhi would have a huge impact on all other regions. No body would work unless they make sure that they get something out of it.

Not just Subramanian Swamy; every body would say; I give as good as I get.

Party members are not volunteers; they do expect; not some thing; a huge thing; in return.

Nothing comes from nothing.

If you upset members of your organization; they would give you a Great Disappointment in return.

You could have appointed Kiran Bedi as Governor of Delhi; but not this political position.

Nobody would trust you anymore; you guys are operating like a quick-rich finance company.

Already all your alliance partners lost trust in you; now, with Kiran Bedi episode, all your party workers would no longer trust you.

Sincere, loyal persons with good character would stay away from party activities; ruthless, highly ambitious would emerge as a regional leaders; those persons would fake to you and would take advantage of you at the right time.

Both Narendra Modi and Amit Shah are under tremendous pressure; they need to break their own performance records. They have built so high expectations.

Superman doesn't work everyday. Even God cannot do miracles on daily basis.

All the members of Team Anna are destroyers; one destroyed Congress; other destroys BJP.

Right now,  BJP party members in every region would pray for the failure for this strategy. If it succeeds, then this would be strategy for future.

Every regions has their Kiran Bedi and the hard-working party members have to pull the vehicle; just like in Calcutta street rickshaw; they need to lift the palanquin for all the future Kiran Bedi.

Announcing CM candidate is not a constitution necessity; so just declare that, we will choose the CM after the election. In that way, you could control the damage.

It is not just Delhi. All your old, new and fresh members from all over India are looking at your actions.

It will have an impact beyond Delhi. You may win Delhi election; but would lose the trust of other regional members. Very short-sighted; very desperate; very bad strategy.

Had L.K.Advani taken this decision, the party would have Advani accountable for the wrong strategy and would have asked to step down. But, it is Amit Shah; nobody could question.

We, the people of India

WE, THE PEOPLE OF INDIA, having solemnly resolved to constitute India
into a SOVEREIGN SOCIALIST SECULAR DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC and
to secure to all its citizens:

JUSTICE, social, economic and political;

LIBERTY of thought, expression, belief, faith and worship;

EQUALITY of status and of opportunity; and to promote among them all

FRATERNITY assuring the dignity of the individual and the unity and integrity of the Nation;

IN OUR CONSTITUENT ASSEMBLY this twenty-sixth day of November, 1949, do HEREBY ADOPT, ENACT AND GIVE TO OURSELVES THIS CONSTITUTION.

_____________________________________________________________

It's time to review; review the Constitution of India; not just for us; but for the future generations.

Not just the preamble; but the whole; whole of the Constitution of India; word by word.

It's time to ask the questions:
  • do we need an ineffective, ceremonial President or an effective President?
  • do we need an ineffective, ceremonial Vice-President or an effective Vice-President to take charge, in case of any crisis?
  • do we need a highly loaded responsibility; absolutely no authority; but accountable for each and every actions; do we need such a Prime Minister?
  • do we need groups in the Parliament; the noisy Legislative branch; or an effective Legislative branch with high quality individuals with character?
  • Do we need FDI or sponsorship to review our own Constitution? Could we do it with our own fund and resources?
  • How long could we continue with repeated elections; absolute majority; coalition; alliances; and all those political entertainment? It costs tax payer's money.
  • Do we still need election symbols on our sophisticated electronic voting machine.
_______________________________________________________________
Indian politics is so complicated; it's our responsibility to simplify the politics and the government.

You cannot totally and completely replace government with private corporate companies. Government; effective government is essential.

A few years ago, Google executives went to San Francisco and attended the City Executives meeting; it is about providing free Wi-Fi for the entire city. Google executives felt that those government executives and politicians were stupid; and stopped going for further discussion. That project didn't go through.

Later Google executives realized that whether the government executives and politicians are stupid or not; it doesn't matter; but they have the power to authorize this kind of large scale project.

Then Google invited the Governor of California to their head office in Mountain View and the Governor signed the bill in Google campus to allow the intelligent-self-driving-vehicles to be operated on the roads of California.

All seven men perspectives are true; together, on the whole, it is an elephant.

So, we cannot ignore or neglect or isolate politicians. They are not politicians; they are political leaders; part of the whole.
_________________________________________________________________
In current period, instead of facing any challenges, they find work-arounds.

Even in family, people may have conflicts. But they don't go to the court; they do find a work-around.

In family, all members have a clear understanding about their mis-understanding. With that understanding, they avoid conflicts. That is the reason, nowadays you don't see lot of divorce cases.

In family, with all these work-around, they maintain peace; but no happiness and joy.
________________________________________________________________

The same work-around concept has been extended to political families also. All have a clear understanding of their mis-understanding within political family.

So, in Indian politics, the Prime Minister has to face the external challenges before the election. After the election, the Prime Minister has to face the internal challenges.

As of today, the Prime Minister doesn't face any challenge from Sonia, Lallu, Mulayam, Mamata, Jayalalitha.

But the Prime Minister is facing challenges from his own political family members. The Prime Minister has his own agenda; family members have their own agenda.

Before election, the whole family had only one agenda; no conflict.

But, after the election, each family members has his or her own agenda; and they are in conflict.

You cannot blame the family members. They wanted to complete the temple for Rama and wanted to start temples for Krishna and others. They couldn't do it in Vajpayee's period. They reached the point; now or never.

The elected head of the nation has to enjoy total and absolute freedom from all family members.
_____________________________________________________________

In United States, the President enjoys that kind of freedom; authority; real authority; not the fake authority.

Most of the founding fathers of United States of America were from Europe and United Kingdom. Back in United Kingdom, they were facing the challenges, what we are facing now. They could see the defects in the political systems of the British; but they couldn't fix those defects.

All those cunning British politicians and the King and the Queen were ignoring all those suggestions and continue with those chaos and confusions; till now.

The British King suggested them to go to this new land of America and experiment with your idea of government.
_________________________________________________________________

So, in current India, all those Members of Parliament will not allow to change anything in the constitution. It is their life. Any amendments would be a suicide for the politicians.

Narendra Modi assumes that he has absolute majority in the parliament. Narendra Modi could test his assumption on the floor of the parliament.

Narendra Modi could address the MPs:

Fellow Members of the Parliament, as the Prime Minister, I would like to make the following amendments in the constitution. Could all vote in favor of it?
____________________________________________________________

Only one way out. Narendra Modi could work with space scientists and go to Mars along with other people. There in Mars, Narendra Modi could establish a new government with new constitution.

__________________________________________________________

Family members, parivar,  always want to have BJP in power. It doesn't mean, parivar always want Narendra Modi in power. Parivar could appoint anybody else in position.

Just like that Foreign Secretary.

All those virtual Facebook and Twitter friends express their anger in Social media only; they will not come to the street and fight for their leader.
___________________________________________________________

Poor India; not poor in resources; but poorly managed country.

Silence is Suicide

Manmohan Singh was silent on corruption. Manmohan Singh was not directly involved in corruption. But Manmohan Singh couldn't stop the corruption; couldn't take any action against corruption.

In Manmohan Singh case, that silence was a suicide.

Corruption doesn't always refer to financial sense; corruption in mind cause more damage in human beings than the financial corruption.

Narendra Modi is facing this situation. Right now, nobody could effectively oppose his policy and efforts. No opposition. But, Narendra Modi is facing challenges from within.

Cancer is not from outside; cancer is from within.

Just like Manmohan Singh, Narendra Modi also maintains silence about corruption in mind of the Indian public.

Just like Manmohan Singh case, it will be suicide for Narendra Modi government.

Manmohan Singh couldn't act directly or indirectly against the corruption in finance.

But, Narendra Modi tries all kinds of indirect ways. It is not going to work.

Deal it directly. The Prime Minister has to break the silence and talk to the people directly.

Whatever Pranab & Obama said, Narendra Modi has to say directly to the people.

It demands courage; courage, even to sacrifice the power and position.

As a Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi could get his strength directly from the people. With that strength, Narendra Modi could fight against the challenges from within his parent organization.

The first step for evolving like America is, adopt their constitution.

Obama stands in Congress and confidently says that as the President of United States, he will veto those bills that are against the interest of the American public.

As the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi has no special constitutional rights to allow or veto anything. In India, the PM is just an other Member of Parliament.

Always, outside person has unlimited authority over the Prime Minister. Earlier Sonia had; now, Mohan Bhagwat has.

Three hundred years ago, the founding fathers of United States of America built the platform. We need to build that platform now in India. We could have Barack Obama as a consultant for reviewing Indian Constitution 2.0

If Narendra Modi could have constitutional authority like Barack Obama, then there will be no need for any diplomacy with any other organizations.

Known is the burden; Freedom from the known is the total freedom.

Narendra Modi has only two options. One option is Gandhi way.
Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi doesn't need any constitutional authority; he has moral authority.
Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi could unite people with his moral way;

Eshwar, Allah tera naam.

So, Narendra Modi could adopt Gandhi way.

The other option is, constitutional authority for Narendra Modi.
With the current majority, adopt new Constitution.

There is no way out. Everything else would bring Narendra Modi back to square one.

Pranab and Obama's speech could not save Narendra Modi from his current challenges. In fact, it would cause more trouble.

Narendra Modi needs to break his silence and speak about religious freedom.

Fail to do so; then silence would be a suicide for Narendra Modi's government.

Uphold religious freedom, Obama urges India

 India will succeed as long as it is not splintered along religious lines, U.S. President Barack Obama said here on Tuesday while addressing an audience of students and other invitees at the end of his visit to India.

His words, along with a pointed reference to Article 25 of the Indian Constitution which guarantees religious freedom, is seen as a strong statement against fundamentalism and extremism here and in the U.S.

“Every person has the right to practise their faith as they choose, or no faith at all without fear or discrimination,” said Mr. Obama.

The Indian Constitution is the holy book of democracy. It is a lodestar for the socio-economic transformation of an India whose civilization has celebrated pluralism, advocated tolerance and promoted goodwill between diverse communities. These values, however, need to be preserved with utmost care and vigilance. The freedom inherent in democracy sometimes generates an unhappy by-product when political discourse becomes a competition in hysteria that is abhorrent to our traditional ethos. The violence of the tongue cuts and wounds people's hearts. Religion, said Gandhiji, is a force for unity; we cannot make it a cause of conflict.

Much is said about India's soft power. But the most powerful example of India's soft power, in an international environment where so many countries are sinking into the morass of theocratic violence, lies in our definition of the relationship between faith and polity. We have always reposed our trust in faith-equality where every faith is equal before the law and every culture blends into another to create a positive dynamic. Wisdom of India teaches us: unity is strength, dominance is weakness.

Narendra Modi's first key message is that he will engage with the Sangh only through its top leader, Bhagwat, and not with various other notables. This is a significant break from the practice during Atal Bihari Vajpayee's prime ministership. Vajpayee would meet many second-rung Sangh leaders, for example Madan Dass Devi, and give them a hearing. Often, middle-level Sangh leaders would act as mediators.

In contrast, Modi telling Bhagwat that he will deal only with the RSS' top boss is an indication, a senior BJP leader said, of the PM's firm intention to run his government his own way.

The second message the PM communicated to the RSS chief is that it is the Sangh's responsibility to make sure that the first BJP majority government in New Delhi can work in an atmosphere conducive to delivering its development and growth promises.

Great Disappointments

When you live in United States, you may see a lot of actions about India in Facebook, Twitter and other social media. You may have sensed as if India has been undergoing radical transformation. You start building up expectations. Those slowly grow into Great Expectations.

With all those Great Expectations, I visited India during Christmas holidays. I boarded the plane in San Francisco airport. In San Francisco airport, the Wi-Fi works good. Bathrooms are neat and clean. No complaints.

I did enjoy flying in Emirates. After 15 hours travel, we reached Dubai. Dubai airport is the best. Right now, there are some expansion activities have been going on. Even then, they manage the airport operations very well.

I could see, the native Emirates citizens could do a self check-out to get out of the airport. The Wi-Fi in Dubai airport works excellant. You could do a Skype and take your family around the shopping mall in the airport.

Your Great Expectations  grew into Greater Expectations. You may start imagining about India better than San Francisco and Dubai.

Just landed in airport in India. Absolutely no manual or automatic medical check-up for incoming passengers.  Surprising.

One good thing about no medical check-up is, you don't need to spend much time in the airport. But, still, you need to spend a minimum of 2 to 3 hours in the airport. It is very irritating, after a long flight journey of more than 20 hours.

All those e-passport and e-visa - practically, a long way to go.

As I had to spend sometime in the airport, I was trying with my phone to connect with the Wi-Fi.

Hell with Tata Docomo. It was so frustrating. It showed up as if there is a strong Wi-Fi signal available. Then, when you try to connect it, it just keep failing. The airport Wi-Fi is a total failure.

On my arrival, I did try it for an hour. Also, on my departure also, I did try it out. The Wi-Fi is just like BJP. All promises are just empty; no action at all.

Then, in Chennai, lot of development activities going on. That credit goes to Pannerselvam government.

For central government, it is all about airport and railways.

I took suburban trains in Chennai. It is very cheap; just Rs 5. But, trains and stations are dirty. No Good.

It's time to shutdown the Mambalam railway station. It is so crowded right from early morning till late night. There is no need for trains to stop at Mambalam. Shutdown the Mambalam station; and modernize the adjacent stations, Kodambakkam and Saidapet.

I travel by public transportation by state buses. Buses are operating very effectively; reasonable fares; well connected. But most of the bus stations do not have proper toilet facilities. I travel three states by bus; Tamilnadu, Kerala and Karnataka. All bus stations; lot of people are coming in; but no good facilites.

Over all, India is still Manmohan Singh's India. Chennai suburban train stations are like in the ages of Indira Gandhi or Morarji Desai.

What you see in Facebook and Twitter is not what you get on the field.

At least, fix the Wi-Fi issue at the airports. Get rid of Tata Docomo.

Great Expectations landed on Great Disappointments.

Insure in India

Not Make in India. Not Innovate in India.

Make in China. Innovate in America.

But, Insure in India.

In the current period, every organization has been evolving as a global organization. Organization offers services and products with personalization for each and every global citizens. They think global; act local.

People don't consider Google as an american company. People do consider Google as their own company.  Same goes true for Facebook, Twitter and other social media.

So, for global citizens, Search in Google.

Just like those enterprises, nations are also evolving with specialization. China for manufacturing. When you buy a pair of scissors anywhere in the world, it is made in China.

Likewise, when you want to travel, it is Emirates. Travel in Emirates. Emirates as a nation; and as a global organization; offers travel services all over planet earth. Emerging nations like Sri Lanka could delegate the transportation responsibility to Emirates.

So, India as a democracy nation, cannot compete with China on manufacturing. So, Make in India will not work.

People of India still haven't realized the joy of freedom; they continue to be a slave to some masters; so, Innovate in India will not work. Slaves cannot innovate. Human being, who enjoys total and complete freedom innovate.

But, India could emerge as a capital for all Insurance business. So, Insure in India.

Good timing. During Obama's visit, India could sign for an agreement to manage the entire Obama care. That would be a good beginning.

Let us see the current insurance business model.
The following three actors are involved in any insurance business:

  • Customers
  • Service Providers
  • Insurance company
Even in the current model, the Insurance company function from remote location. Customers buy insurance policy online or over phone. They never walk into insurance office.

So, it would be much easier to move the Insurance company from remote location to off-shore.

Insurance business is all about 'information.'  Information about customer behavior to fixe the premium. Information about service providers. In case of any crisis, the insurance company should be able to support the customer to go to the right service provider and come out of crisis.

So, Insurance company could operate from India and could support global citizens.

Indians are good in managing information; they do have expertise skills in computer hardware, software and networking. So, all insurance companies could move into India. Or Indian companies could expand their market into all nations.

Customers don't mind whether you offer service from India or from Mars. As long as they pay less premium, they would be happy.

Service providers also don't mind whether you pay from India or from Mars. As long as they get paid for their service, they would be happy.

So, disrupt the insurance business. You may start with simple insurance like, life and then expand to complex auto, flood, etc.

This may be just a beginning. Later you could disrupt the entire financial services and wall-street business operations.

You cannot disrupt agriculture; you cannot disrupt manufacturing. But all non-tangible, soft-skills could be disrupted easily.

Barack Obama would welcome India to disrupt the NewYork financial services and WallStreet business operations.
