Person serving tea for a decade in Sri Lanka

I am happy to go before the people - President Mahinda Rajapaksa

President Mahinda Rajapaksa said, “The contest is between me and the Chandrika-Mangala alliance. Ranil is in the sidelines. But I think Ranil would have been the best candidate for the opposition. Maithripala is a nonentity in this. All I can do is to wish him well”.

Does it make any sense? Don't come to the conclusion, in general, all Sri Lankans are confused people. No. Sri Lankans in general are intelligent people. Only their president Mahinda Rajapaksa is in a state of confusion.

It would be better for their family and also for the SLFP political party, if the President Mahinda Rajapaksa does speak less, at this critical juncture. Let the government or the party spokesperson meet the press and answer their questions.

Except Mahinda, nobody else in Sri Lanka thinks that this current contest is between Mahinda and Chandrika. Not even Mahinda's family members think in that way; not the party workers think that the contest is between Mahinda and Chandrika.

Everybody knows that the contest is between Mahinda Family and the whole citizens of Sri Lanka.

It's people versus fake King of Sri Lanka.

Asked if he would wait for the end of his 6 year term to take oaths for a third term if he wins the election, President Rajapaksa said he would take oaths on November 19, 2015. “I will lose one year, just as I lost one year in my first term”.

Had it been Indian media, they would have asked so many questions on this statement.

What if he loses the election?
When Mahinda would vacate the office, if he loses the election?

It is better to ask that question to the President himself. Because, nobody else could give proper interpretation of their constitution and laws.

Indian medis would have asked this question too. Mr.President, why such a hurry?
Two years before the end of the term; and why January 8, 2015, if you are going to take oath on November 19, 2015; why such a hurry?

Could we at least delay the election for a few more weeks? Could we have the election after the Pope visit. Let the Pope have a peaceful stay in Sri Lanka. Let us have the election in February or in November 15, 2015 or 2016. Why such a hurry, if you are not going to take oath immediately.

At this juncture, this meeting with media is a very important event. President Mahinda Rajapaksa could have conveyed a very effective message about his achievement and his future plan for Sri Lanka. The world is listening now.

Even the person who served tea to you is one recruited by Chandrika

But look at the content; the fact is right there; the person have been serving tea for more than a decade in Temple Tree, the President's palace. That is a clear example for the non-development of citizen of Sri Lanka.

Had that person been in India, by this time he would have been the Prime Minister of India. Only in India, a chaiwalla could become the Prime Minister.

There in Sri Lanka, as per Mahinda Rajapaksa's own confession; a health minister cannot become the President of Sri Lanka.

Maithreepala is a nonentity...

What an arrogant statement. How could they make such an arrogant statement and practice buddhism?

This conversation clearly establishes that the President Mahinda Rajapaksa is in a state of confusion; not fit to lead a nation with so much complex issues.

At this point of time, it would be better for the family; and for the party to field someone else as a candidate.
