President Chandrika Kumaratunga had called the 1999 election one year ahead of schedule; she argued that the extra year should be appended to her second term, and filed suit do to this. The Supreme Court of Sri Lanka rejected her claims and the election went ahead.

There will be no new government in January 2015.
Even after the election...
Mahinda Rjapaksa win or lose; it doesn't matter.
Till 19 November, 2016, Mahinda Rajapaksa is the President of Sri Lanka.

All these National Government for 100 days; no way.

Earlier they said; eliminate the Executive Presidency in 100 days and make Ranil as the Prime Minister.

Now, they modified their goals and say, we would form a National Government for 100 days and do reforms that are possible. They do not publish a list of reforms, that they plan to accomplish in 100 days.

Soon, they would quit.

One good thing that has happened in Sri Lanka.
Now, in 2014, all citizens of Sri Lanka are equal.
Not by constitutional; but by Mahinda Rajapaksa's action.

All citizens; without any exceptions; are equal in Sri Lanka.
Freedom is denied to all;
Freedom is denied not just the people in the north, but also for the entire island.
As there is no freedom for citizens, all are now slaves.
Except the President and his family all are slaves.
Even cabinet ministers are slaves.
The difference is between comfortable slaves and uncomfortable slaves.
Cabinet ministers are comfortable slaves; others are uncomfortable slaves.

All these early poll and its related activities have been happening; they are advantage to Mahinda.  All conspiracies are out. What the intelligence couldn't deliver, the poll announcement brought all conspiracy out. With this poll announcement, Mahinda could come to understand the conspiracy that has been going on against his rule.

Till now, Mahinda Rajapaksa has not resigned. Mahinda would never resign.

Even if, Maithreepala Srisena win the election; as per constitution, Srisena would be known as President-elect; not as the President.

In United States, the election happens on November 4. By evening, the results would be out. The winning candidate would be addressed as President-elect. The President-elect may have to wait for two months before take charge from the outgoing president.

So, no change of government - in the month of January.
