Public Transportation in United States

All around the world, people do have needs; most of their needs are satisfied; but still, many of their needs are not satisfied. Those unsatisfied needs are the seeds; they are the seeds for innovation.

Almost five or six decades ago, Public Transportation did exist in the United States. Then, General Motors killed the entire Public Transportation in the United States. Even now, General Motors do not manufacture any Public Transportation vehicles.

Now, people in the United States wants to have the Public Transportation. For so many reasons, people now prefer Public Transportation. Some of those reasons are:

  • Green solution for transportation needs
  • Stay connected with Wi-Fi, while they are on-the-go.
  • Text and travel in Public Transportation.
  • Drink and travel in Public Transportation.
  • Maintaing a car is expensive.
  • With Public Transportation, people will be free from auto-insurance, parking, tickets & fine.

So, people in the United States do have unsatisfied needs.
That is, Public Transportation.

Public Transportation means, Buses, Light Rails, Trains.

In United States, they build Space Shuttle, Boeing, Military Vehicles, Helicopters; but not Buses and Trains.

So, Public Transportation in the United States is a huge virgin market.
It is open for India, China & Brazil.

They could supply Buses, Trains to Unites States.

Public Transportation, such as Buses and Trains need to be supported by small vehicles; such as Auto Rickshaws. They are known as Local Transportation Service Providers.

You need an Auto Rickshaw to go from home to the bus station, or train station. That is also missing now.

So, when Narendra Modi visits United States, Modi could bring 100 Auto Rickshaws along with  him and launch Auto service in the city of New York.

Here in San Francisco bay area, they introduce almost ten buses daily. Cal train is running between San Jose and San Francisco; just like from Thane to Church Gate.

But people find it difficult to reach the train station; because there is no Auto Rickshaws.

So, Auto Rickshaws are unsatisfied needs for Americans.
Buses are unsatisfied needs for Americans.
Trains are also unsatisfied needs for Americans.

So, it is a open market for India, China & Brazil.
You could build Buses, Trains with Wi-Fi; energy efficient; solar or electric powered.

Four decades ago, Sony's Akio Morita was going around New York city.
There were 75 radio stations broadcasting news and music.
People could listen to them with their radios.

In those days, radio means, those big Phillips or Murphy radio.
It was so big; it consumes lot of power.
So, people could listen to the radio programme, when they are at home.
They couldn't listen to music, when they were going to work.
So, that was the 'unsatisfied needs'

Only Sony Akio Morita could see this 'unsatisfied need'
Sony didn't have any technology to make small radio.
AT&T had the technology; but they had no idea, where it could be put into use.
Sony bought the technology from AT&T and built the transistor radio.
Sony fulfilled the 'unsatisfied need' of listening to radio while you are on-the-go.

So, 'unsatisfied need' is the seed for innovation.
